The rise in incoming tourism in Germany continued to gain momentum in the first half of 2015, with an increase of 1.6 million additional overnight stays. According to preliminary data from the Federal Statistical Office, more than 34.4 million overnight stays by international visitors was recorded, during the period of January to June, in accommodation establishments with ten or more beds – an increase of five per cent compared to the same period in 2014.
